Name: Areli Marinus Triton
Nickname/Other names: Eli
Parent(s): Queen Ariel and King Eric
Canon: The Little Mermaid
Appearance: Eli is not as skinny as he used to be when he was a child, all his time in the water means that, while he's still pretty slim, he's got plenty of definition. He's small for his age, but he's ok with that - it means he swims faster, at least that's the way he sees it.
He dresses casually, jeans and t-shirts and whatever he finds to throw on, he favours uncomplicated clothing that's easy to pull off whenever the urge to swim takes him. If he's just relaxing at home or doesn't think anybody will be around, he'll probably be shirtless, as he feels much less constricted that way. He does at least appreciate how t-shirts are a lot more comfortable than the stuffy shirts and jackets of formal princely attire. He keeps his hair short most of the time, but what can be seen of it is a very dark brown, like his father's, though his eyes are hazel unlike either of his parents'.
He's a very physically expressive person, and he likes to always be moving, he uses his hands when he speaks and he's often in motion even when sitting 'still' - even if it's just tapping his feet. He's quite an awkward person, like he doesn't quite have control over his own body - except when he's in water. As soon as he's in the water he seems to know exactly what he's doing right down to the tips of his fingers, every movement he makes is sheer gracefulness - the exact opposite of what he's like the rest of the time.
Personality: Eli is a pretty upbeat person, he's friendly to mostly everyone he meets and doesn't hold grudges that often. He can be prone to slightly over-dramatic reactions, but it usually doesn't take long for him to forgive people and move on, and as long as people can deal with him overreacting in the moment, he keeps friends once he's made them.
As a child of two worlds, he thinks it's really important for people to understand each other, so he hates it when people can't see his point of view or, even worse, don't take the time to listen to it, and that's about the only time he'll stay angry at someone for any length of time. If they actually try and understand, he'll probably stay friendly enough - he'll just keep trying to explain until they get it. If they flat out refuse to listen, however, he'll usually get a bit sulky.
He loves learning new things, though he doesn't have the greatest ability to retain the information and he can be a little bit gullible, if somebody tells him a fact wrong he'll most likely believe it until proven otherwise, though he isn't all that bothered when he's wrong about something. He can feel a little embarrassed depending on how people choose to correct him, but most of the time he'll just cheerfully accept that he got something wrong and move on, armed with the right information - as long as he remembers it.
He takes after his mother a lot with his sweet and friendly demeanour and his inquisitive nature, so sometimes it's hard to see his father's influence, even his wilful refusal to do anything he doesn't want to do could be quite easily inherited from either parent, but despite his mother's obvious influence Eli does actually look up to his father a lot and wants to be more like him.
History: Eli was born to Ariel and Eric and, like his brothers and sisters, was raised to be a prince. In order to encourage harmony and understanding, Eli and his siblings had a lot of contact with his mother's family, despite not being able to sprout fins and join them properly, they would still visit them on the shore or take the ship out to the deeper waters. Eli loved being in the water, and every time they were close enough to Triton's palace Eli would constantly try and swim deep enough to get a proper look at it. His lungs always gave up before he could reach it, but after years of trying he could still beat most of his siblings in any sort of breath-holding challenge (and when children spend a lot of time in the water, those sorts of things occur often).
He was always a bit of a runt, he wasn't as fast or as strong as some of his brothers, nor as graceful and charming as his sisters, and much as he desperately wanted to he just couldn't connect with their father the way some of his siblings could, so he spent a lot of his childhood feeling like he was the odd one out - except in the water. When he was in the water his body moved the way he wanted it to, the world just made a bit more sense, and he often wondered what it would have been like if he had grown up with the merfolk instead of in the castle. He started collecting, just as his mother had, only instead of music boxes and cutlery it was seashells and sponges and bits of coral. His room began to resemble an underwater cave and every spare moment he'd be found paddling in rock pools or swimming in the bay.
It wasn't until he missed a very important rehearsal dinner for his eldest brother's coronation as crown prince that his parents were faced with the similarities between his behaviour and his mother's, and an ugly possibility presented itself; what if he tried to ask a witch for help? What would he sacrifice for a tail? At first, they simply tried to discourage him from spending so much time in the water, they cleared his collection and tried to interest him in land-based pursuits, but they soon realised that this only pushed him closer to the ocean.
That's when they remembered Seacombe Halpworth, they'd never thought about sending any of the children there in the past, as they were quite happy to have them tutored at home, but it seemed like taking Eli away from the sea and putting him somewhere safe, somewhere he wouldn't wander off and find a witch to grant his wish, was the best course of action.
Eli started attending the school when he was 14, at first it was hard to catch up, homesickness and frustration combined with so many new things to get used to made it difficult for him, not to mention he was still skinny and awkward, and kids can be cruel. Eventually though he settled in, he spent his time in the pool or the lake, and even though it wasn't quite the same it made him feel a little bit better. He tries his best to focus on his prince lessons, hoping it will make him more like his father, but he finds it boring and hard to focus, and he'd much rather be swimming.
He's approaching his final year and it's nearly time to make the choice whether to go home or stay on and study a degree, and though he knows his parents probably want him to come home, he's considering staying - mostly because he doesn't want to admit to them that they were right, what he really wants is to swap his legs for a tail and join his mother's family beneath the waves. He's hoping more time at school will help him find a safer way to do it, without making dangerous deals with witches.
This info is all from the app from another site, where Eli attends a school for the children of fairytale characters, this is all able to be modified as required for whatever plots he's wanted for

Appearance: Back in the underworld, Aristeides took a great deal after her father, with deathly pale skin and flowing locks of blue fire, it was just lucky that she also inherited her mother's good looks to go with her father's colouring. Flaming hair doesn't exactly go down too well in the 'normal' world, so upon arriving at SH she found she looked a little more, well, human.
Her hair is still blue (and whether it's naturally like that or she dyes it, she'll never reveal) and she keeps it long and flowing, it's easier to catch the attention of impressionable boys with a hair flick that way, and her skin is not quite so grey, though it's still quite pale. Her eyes are a much more ordinary amber, though they still have a somewhat piercing quality to them.
She takes incredibly good care of herself, knowing the importance of image when it comes to manipulating people, and also just generally staying healthy. She is slim, but it's almost entirely muscle, so her build would probably more be described as 'athletic' than 'skinny'. She doesn't really bother with an over-abundance of makeup, relying on her natural looks with only the minimum of enhancement. Clothing wise, she favours flowing, comfortable clothing that's quite often grecian in style, though generally cut a bit shorter than you might expect for ease of running and working out. She prefers flat sandals or being barefoot, but will sometimes wear heels if she's dressing up for something fancy.
Personality: On the surface, Aristeides is coldly charming, sweet and polite to anybody she deems good enough for her attention, and contemptuously dismissive of everybody else. Her facade is carefully constructed, designed specifically to make everybody want to be one of the elite on her good side. There's very few people she's outright cruel to, most people just get ignored as beneath her notice, and she can seem to be genuinely nice to those closest to her.
In reality, she's pretty contemptuous of, well, everybody. She views most people as beneath her and ultimately distrusts everybody - it's part arrogance and part paranoia, the idea that she's better than everyone warring with the idea that nobody really likes her. She's bitter and cynical and generally expects everybody to be out for themselves just as much as she is, and views people being genuinely caring and helpful as either the ultimate weakness or just a very cleverly hidden ulterior motive.
At times, her temper can be as bad as her father's, but she does her best to make sure she's alone before she really lets it explode. There's more than a few broken plates and cups she's had to sweep up from her dorm room over the years, and plenty of punching bags that have been on the receiving end of a fairly brutal beating. It's very rare that she'll allow herself to be caught in these outbursts, as she knows how damaging it can be to her current reputation.
History: Anything you can do, I can do better - if Zeus had a son, well then, Hades was going to have... a daughter. Okay, so it was a son he'd been planning on, but generally speaking he got on with women better anyway, and as long as she was better than Hercules that was all that mattered - that's why her name literally means 'best'. (Okay, so it was a boy's name, he'd planned that before she was even born, but it was too good to just throw away).
Life was strange, one minutes Hades would be completely doting on her, the next he was pushing her to be faster, stronger, better. She showed a talent for the manipulative that he highly approved of, but it didn't stop him from demanding more physical prowess as well. Between that switch and his violent temper, childhood left Aristeides very much on her toes.
Always one to keep his secrets to himself, it was only natural that he would want to keep Aristeides out of sight so the gods couldn't watch her progress. He had tried, at first, to keep her very existence a secret, but the 'family' were a nosy bunch, even when it cames to Hades' affairs (especially when it came to Hades' affairs after the whole Hercules drama), and it wasn't long before she was discovered - after that, of course, they were constantly making up excuses to check up on her (and occasionally to encourage her to 'be good'), which only caused Hades to become more irritable. Eventually, he struck upon a golden idea - he would send her away, somewhere they couldn't see. The perfect place presented itself, Seacombe Halpworth Academy. It suited his needs to the letter - it was somewhere the gods wouldn't watch her, and somewhere she could continue to train in everything she needed to know in order to come home and help daddy dearest take over the world. As soon as she was old enough, away she went.
Being out from under Hades' thumb was liberating, but she'd spent so many years training to be the best and honing all her skills that she was at a loss for how to rebel, it was all she'd ever known. For her first couple of years she followed her routines exactly as they had always been, training hard and mostly avoiding people - sure she occasionally tried out her skills in manipulation and, well, meanness, but most of the time she kept to herself. She wasn't exactly used to being around the living that much.
When she was around 14, she started coming out of her shell a little, realising she didn't have to be quite so strict with her training when Hades wasn't watching over her shoulder, and maybe it was time to work on her social skills. Convincing idiots to do her bidding with a bat of her eyelashes was easy enough, but there were some smart heroes out there who needed something a little more sophisticated. Not to mention, she needed practice for taking over the world, so how about taking over the school first?
For the past two years she's been perfecting her rule, being sweet to the people she needed to be sweet to (oh, I'm so sorry I was so mean to you last year, I just wasn't used to being around so many people, won't you forgive me?) and just mean enough to the ones who deserved her contempt. She buttered up the teachers, flirted with all the boys and generally worked to become queen of the school.
As with Eli, this history is from a site where Aristeides attends a school for the children of fairytale characters, this history is able to be modified where required.

Info is from a site where I used to play her. Lorenna's secret is that she's a vampire, she's a terrible sue but I love her so much haha. Will probably tidy this up and improve it at a later date as this app was written like 12 years ago. No face currently
Name: Lorenna Angelica Rosen
Blood: Half (Wizard father, muggle mother)
Wand: 9", yew and unicorn tail hair.
-Eyes: Very pale blue, icy.
-Hair: waist length, black, perfectly straight (Unknown to most, she uses a straightening charm on it every morning)
-Build: slim (because of her ‘affliction’, the potion she takes drains her body of nutrients in order to do its job, so while she seems to eat as much as most, it’s getting used up more – plus she does a fair bit of exercise)
-General: Lorenna has a look that could be described as ‘effortlessly beautiful’ by most, since very very few people know what she does to gain her looks. While some of it is natural, a great deal of it is a combination of grooming and acting (i.e. the way she carries herself). She’s also very, very pale.
Personality: Loyal to her house, to the point of hating the others. Cold and distant to almost everyone, for fear of them learning certain secrets, and it’s quite hard to break past her shell – and near suicide for a non-Slytherin to try it.
However, once someone has got to know her, or become her friend, she can be fiercely loyal to them, and – while she seems as bitchy as usual – her comments rarely contain the venom they usually do, and can be seen as banter.
To nearly everyone, she can be scathingly witty, often being more hurtful than she intends.
Hobbies: Quidditch, mocking people, reading trashy romance novels
Likes: flying, lollipops, peace, Slytherins, sunlight
Dislikes: anyone who isn’t Slytherin, transfiguration, blood
Quirks: Lorenna has violent reactions to the sight of blood, and will often flee the room if it appears. It’s also interesting to note that, while quite an intelligent girl, and good at most of the subjects she takes (especially Potions); she’s absolutely hopeless at Transfiguration.
Lessons taken: Charms, potions, Transfiguration, DATDA, History of Magic
Favourite lessons: Potions
Most hated lessons: Transfiguration
History: The illegitimate result of a brief, experimental affair between a muggle woman and a pure-blood wizard, Lorenna was taken in by her father when her mother died of cancer when she was just 3.
Originally he had intended to leave her in the care of her mother, the only mark of his presence being the money he sent to them, and the explicit instructions he gave for dealing with a ‘condition’ that he had passed onto the girl. This caused him to be somewhat cold to his young daughter at first.
However, he soon warmed to the serious young girl when she started fully embracing her wizarding heritage, and his own preference for magic of a slightly darker nature.
He also began to realise that bringing her up himself was a much better idea, for he realised her mother would never have told her of her other heritage, which could have been potentially disastrous. Luckily for Lorenna, Kristóf (her father) was on hand to fully explain every aspect of the affliction that plagued her, meaning that when the young girl started Hogwarts, he was confident that she would behave admirably.
Kristóf himself had been to Durmstrang, since he had grown up in his native Romania (a place Lorenna spends her summers since coming to live with her father, therefore being bilingual), so knew very little of Hogwarts houses. After a little research however, he decided it would only be fitting for his daughter to become a Slytherin. Luckily, the sorting hat thought so too.
Lorenna’s first few years at Hogwarts passed fairly uneventfully, Lorenna making her father more proud by gaining a place of chaser in the Slytherin Quidditch team, and Slytherin Prefect, as well as keeping her secret.
And so, she begins her fifth year…
Other: Lorenna always, without fail, wears a snake pendant around her neck.

Info taken from an old site, with a lot of on-site history included, will update properly at a later date for an easier-to-play-with version, just keeping this here for reference etc
Name: Clarissa (Callie) Renee Barton-Creed
Originally From: New Orleans
Family: Anthony and Joanne Barton (Estranged parents), Jake Barton (older brother), Lily Barton (Twin sister), Victor Creed (Significant Other/sort-of-husband), Leon Barton-Creed (Son), Belle Barton-Creed (daughter, deceased)
Birthday: 2nd October
Powers: Enhanced senses - to feline standard. Enhanced agility and flexibility
Height: 5'5" (Including ears, 5'2" without)
Eye colour: violet, cat-like pupils
Hair Colour: brown/black with purple streaks
Visible Mutations: purple furred cat ears and tail.
Personality: Callie's hyperactive and cheerful side was dulling a little to reveal a more serious side as she took to motherhood. Since the death of her child, however, Callie has become a far more angry and irritable person - she still has a great deal of love for her children and even still for Victor, not to mention love and admiration for Magneto, but the death of Belle has greatly matured her.
Hobbies: Thieving, drinking, riding her bike.
Favourite food: Cajun cooking, chocolate
Favourite music: punk rock
Things she loves: Creed, thieving, her motorbike, the dogtags she always wears (Creed's), her brother and sister, her claws
Things she hates: being imprisoned, humanity, her parents.
Fears: the dark. - this hasn't been a problem since she got her powers and obtained night vision, so she hasn't got over the fear.
Left in an orphanage in New Orleans not long after birth by her parents, who abandoned both Callie and her twin Lily because of the obvious mutations in both children.
She grew up being passed around between various foster homes and institutions because she was a troublesome child, and often got in fights with other children (mostly because of her mutation), and occasionally got in trouble with the police.
At 14 she ran away and spent three years on the streets, thieving to survive and spending her time dodging the authorities.
At 16 she stole a motorbike and began travelling the country, not long after her 17th birthday (not that she knew it was), she ended up in Bayville.
This was a major turning point in Callie's life. She met Gambit in the mall, and joined the acolytes.
She also met Bobby, and started a tenuous romance, which was soon quashed when Bobby witnessed the televised reports of the Cape Citadel attack (Cape Citadel was an anti-mutant base that the acolytes wanted destroyed) and saw a very familiar figure using clawed metal gloves to tear her way through the soldiers around her.
During this time, Magneto had become like a father figure to her, and had given her the codename 'Bastet' - an Egyptian cat Goddess.
Another romance began, this time with fellow-Acolyte Pyro, on a purely physical level because the emotional connection she'd had with bobby had scared her, and she wanted to get back to what she understood.
It didn't work out, on Halloween she found out Pyro had also been dating Magneto's daughter Wanda, and she stormed off.
Ending up in a bar, she met Sabretooth. They got drunk, and she ended up pregnant.
Luckily, Sabretooth had fallen head over heels for her - just as she had for him - and their relationship blossomed.
However, the course of true love never did run smooth, Callie couldn't handle the sudden onslaught of feelings and the connection, and left.
Not long later, she returned to Bayville to find him again...
(Since joining the site - )
Upon arriving back in Bayville, Callie had just enough time to ask around one or two people about Creed's whereabouts when she was almost instantly captured by SHIELD, who used her to keep Creed quiet.
When the X-men broke them out along with the rest of the captured mutants, Callie suffered a broken ankle, combine that with her nearly complete pregnancy and the feline mutant was stuck in the X-mansion (along with Creed).
She gave birth to twins, Leon and Belle, though the premature birth meant they were stuck with the X-men for a little longer than planned - something none of the strange little family really appreciated.
When they'd finally got out, Callie had to come to terms with the shattered reality she'd ended up in. Lucky enough to remain in a reality with a Victor who remember their history, she was not so lucky when it came to her team - none of whom recalled her (she was also horrified to discover Jubilee with them, as in her reality, Jubilee was an X-man - and one she had not been on good terms with)
The biggest adjustment to make, however, was Magneto - no longer the father figure she recalled him as, the 'new' Magneto was a distant figure, mysterious and rarely seen.
Still, the young mutant settled into motherhood and life at the new acolyte base.
An attack by Sabretooth on the X-man Nightcrawler, and an innocent bystanding priest, culminated in a bizarre and unscheduled wedding between Callie and Victor, so they're now sort-of married (it was a religious ceremony only)
Since the 'wedding', Callie settled in properly, and has been on missions with the acolytes, the most recent being an attack on a mutant holding facility to free the mutants within.
During their latest mission, Callie had a run-in with Bobby, who was the same Bobby she remembered, and they met up after the mission, her intention was to chew him out for how he'd acted (he'd 'saved' her from the sentinal, but dragged her away from helping her team mate, while she'd been in the middle of a fight with one of his).
Things didn't go to plan and a combination of passionate anger and residual feelings ended with them sleeping together.
Shortly afterwards, Sabretooth, who had been away for unknown reasons (though it was revealed he'd been looking for information on Callie's origins), returned to a sleeping Callie and instantly knew of her infidelity.
Whether accidentally or deliberately, in his rage he killed Belle and left again, potentially for good.
Callie woke to find torn up and unreadable clues to her past and the body of one of her children.
Callie was still in shock over the incident when Magneto returned and took her to Asteroid M.
There he revealed that he now knew of Callie's history, and, essentially, was 'her' Magneto again - she'd lost her daughter and regained her father figure.
Magneto gave her her claws back and re-christened her as Bastet, giving her a task - just what she needed to focus on.
With the recent arrival of Wanda, Callie thinks her relationship with Magneto is threatened already.

Montgomery Gabriel Barnes-Rogers
Twenty Two - Shield Agent - bisexual - bottle blond
Agent Name: Montgomery Gabriel Barnes-Rogers
Child Of: Steve Rogers and James Buchanan Barnes (Biological child of Steve Rogers and surrogate mother)
Medical Notes: Asthmatic, Chronic/Frequent colds, Palpitations, heart trouble, easily fatigued.
Genetics is a bitch.
Steve and Bucky took every care when selecting a surrogate mother for their child, they never stopped to consider that Steve would pass on not his new, super-soldier health and abilities, but asthma, heart troubles, a poor immune system and a skinny frame it was near impossible to pack any muscle onto.
That isn't to say they loved their child any less when Monty was born, or even when it became quickly apparent that they were dealing with a very sickly child, and they encouraged him every step of the way - after all, Steve credited a lot of what he did with his own attitude, that was how he'd been chosen for Erskine's experiment after all, and they both had plenty of friends who had done great things with no powers at all. Monty had been named after two of them, members of the Howling Commandos that both men remembered with fondness.
While life at home was perfect (or as perfect as it can be when you're trying to live up to two men literally described as super at every turn), school was hellish. As a sickly redhead with a weird name, Monty was an easy target. It didn't get any better after they found out his dad was Captain America, now he had to contend with not only the bullies and their new ammunition, but also with a sudden flock of people who wouldn't have given him the time of day before suddenly wanting to be his very best friend.
He was glad to get older and get out of there, and he was keen to prove to his parents that all their faith was justified, so as soon as he was able he applied to SHIELD.
It was through the skin of his teeth (and his surname) that he got in, though he was destined for nothing more than a desk job, despite applying for every field promotion that came up.
Unable to face disappointing his parents, he told Steve and Bucky that he was a field agent, occasionally leaving the house to stay with friends under the pretence that he was on a mission.

Twenty Five - Con Artist - Gay - DemiGod
Known offspring of Loki and a human woman, name unknown.
Last formal records indicate childhood in orphanage after the mother died in hospital.
Intel indicates he has left Ireland and is believed to be somewhere in America.
Kin's history from the RPG he is played in
Kin was found in a box outside an orphanage with only a note and a mysterious heirloom, both stolen from him by corrupt orphanage officials, or so he likes to tell the younger kids, as the actual story is a lot more prosaic. His father was left with him when his mother (apparently) died in childbirth, and there was a rather hastily arranged transfer to the orphanage as soon as the man realised his wife would not exactly appreciate him bringing a baby home.
He terrorised the orphanage for several years, running rings around the social workers and causing trouble and chaos wherever he went, apparently without even meaning to - if his perfect look of butter-wouldn't-melt innocence was to be believed (it wasn't).
One Christmas, his randomly assigned gift was about to change his life forever - a magic set. He became obsessed, learning every trick in the box. Where most children fail at the simple tricks and abandon the kits, bored and unsuccessful, Kin found a natural ability - the tricks just worked for him, sometimes better than they really should have done. He’d pester the carers to let him watch magic shows on television, and put on mini performances for staff ad children alike. He had found his calling and he finally had something to distract him from causing chaos…not. In fact, it made him even better at causing absolute mayhem and covering his tracks, and if an interest in sleight of hand lead to an increase in missing biscuits from the kitchen, well that was neither here nor there.
When he was 16, there was a break-in of the orphanage’s records room, Kin disappeared the next day. He travelled through a combination of theft and trickery to the address on his file – his father’s address. The meeting did not go well. As soon as he turned up, the man tried to dismiss him as a salesman, and when he explained who he was, he was only shooed out of there faster. His father claimed ignorance at first, and when that didn’t work, he reached for his wallet.
Disillusioned and bitter, Kin left with disgust… and the man’s wallet. He cleared out one of the bank accounts and dumped the stupid monogrammed leather in the nearest river. Unsurprisingly, his father didn’t report the theft.
He toyed with the idea of returning to the orphanage, but decided he had outgrown the safety net it provided, and he had enough money to get him started. Thus began a life of trickery and subterfuge in earnest. He rang a budget hotel and booked a room for his ‘son’, ensuring it would be okay for him to check in by himself, then he went shopping and stocked up on his magic tricks.
For the next two years, he did magic on the street to raise money, drifting between budget hotels whenever he could afford it. This lifestyle brought him in contact with a less appropriate class of people and he honed his skills in the more illegal forms of sleight of hand and trickery, which he found came just as naturally to him as the magic tricks had. By eighteen he was set up in his own little flat and doing relatively well for himself – until a surprise visitor sent it all tumbling down.
Some friends of his were working on a con, planning to steal a number of bonds from a company called Capello Industries, and with a name like that, they had to get Kin involved. It helped that everything he touched had a tendency to turn to gold.
This time, it didn’t.
Everything seemed to go wrong, they switched to back up plan after back up plan, until finally it was Kin, alone, in the CEO’s office, looking through her paperwork for a password they needed. In the middle of his search, the CEO – who was supposed to be out of the building all day – walked in on him. Normally, Kin could talk his way out of anything, but he found his usual skilled tongue drying up as he looked at her, it was something familiar about her eyes, something he recognised from the mirror. She didn’t seem surprised to see him, if anything she seemed amused. She asked him how the job was going, and he had to admit it was not going very well – which, she explained, was all part of her design. She’d planned it that way so they could meet. Then she quoted Star Wars.
Understandably, Kin was more than a little confused - until the woman became a man right in front of his eyes (though that didn’t so much make him less confused as convince him he had gone mad). Loki – because of course that’s who it was – explained everything. Not because he felt like his son had any right to know, but mostly because he liked to talk about himself. Kin’s conception, he explained, was the result of a bet – a bet Loki had won, of course.
Once the explanation had finished, Loki rather abruptly disappeared – just in time for the police to burst in and catch Kin red-handed.
His arrest didn’t really last long, after a few days in the cells it was discovered that the company – and all record of it – had apparently vanished. Despite having caught Kin in the act, they had nothing to pin on him, and they had to let him go. Upon receiving his personal effects, he found some things that hadn’t been there before; a pendant and an unopened deck of cards.
He returned to his everyday life (what else was he going to do?), though he kept the items close, knowing they were important somehow. It was two years before he managed to unlock the secrets of the pendant and the shadow and fire abilities it gave him, with the help of another scion who had seen something similar before. The cards remained a mystery to him, still wrapped in impervious plastic.
Life was… normal, ish. Sure he was a street (and occasional stage) magician with criminal undertones, and sure his ‘mum’ occasionally popped up just to mess with him, and okay he was bitter and resentful of anybody who got better gifts from their divine parents, and made it his life’s work to steal them every time he came across a scion he decided was undeserving. …So, okay, not that normal then, but he got used to it.
Then, of course, Loki’s latest little trick was to haul his (hungover) arse out of bed the day after a very lengthy birthday celebration, and drop him in the middle of a crowd of other scions who were apparently on some kind of mystical quest. So why the fuck not, not like he has a real job to get back to…
During a pitched battle (because Loki's timing is impeccable), Kin found out something about his birth he'd never known before - he was adopted. His real divine parent, Amaterasu, had abandoned Kin before she had ever revealed herself to him, thinking him too dishonourable to be her son. Loki had in turn, adopted him, ensuring (in that mystical, godly way) that Kin would learn the powers and abilities sacred to him instead of Amaterasu. Given Kin's abandonment issues, this was...conflicting news.
Key Differences in the Future Avengers 'verse
- His mother actually did die in childbirth and Loki is his father
- Most of the specific game references (i.e. the items he received, the exact nature of his abilities, the mention of the other scions) are no longer relevent.
- His mother left him with a letter explaining who his father was, he found this in his file when he broke in, at first he did not believe it - until he realised the kind of unnatural things he could do
- He hasn't actually met his father
- He travelled to America, figuring there was more money to be made, whether by magic or thievery, well, who knows.
